A new study (done by TMP Directional Marketing) has revealed that print yellow pages are no longer the primary way customers seek local information. The internet is now the most popular way consumers look for local information via search engines, local directories and other online venues.
In 2008 the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN were the leading source of information for local customers. This means that more local customers are now using the internet to find local merchants and other businesses online.
This results in massively increasing amounts of sales online.
Did you know? Online retail sales in the U.K. grew 54% in 2007 over 2006, reaching £46.6 billion from £30.2 billion. Reports the IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index.
The internet is expanding at a tremendous pace and within the next three years 66% of offline businesses will be online.
So what does this means for you and your business? Get online or get left behind. There are masses of people searching every second of the day, spending masses of money online and there is no reason why a portion of that business could not be yours.
